Workshop 9 (Afternoon 2:00 - 5:00) Title: FUNCTIONAL DROPLETS FOR FEMTOLITER-SCALE SYNTHETIC BIOLOGY Presenters: Manish Biyani, Japanese Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, JAPAN Workshop Description: The workshop will highlight the emerging platforms for minimal solute entrapment in femtoliter droplets for noise-free synthetic biology. Outline: Development of droplet technology capable of producing high concentration small-size and monodisperse droplets is the key to maximizing the application of synthetic biology for a top-down artificial cellular system. Integration of superfine electrospray technology may facilitate not only the sensitivity improvement but also a colossal leap in directed molecular evolution methodologies. These and others will be presented in this workshop. |
